Making its debut in India in 2012, the original Ertiga is one of the most popular cars from the Maruti Suzuki stables

The Ertiga has been a successful formula by India's leading car manufacturer, but after having served the market well for 6 years

The brand felt that it was necessary to bring in an all-new second-generation Ertiga, equipped with a brand-new engine.

Up-front, the new Ertiga boasts of a huge, chrome grille, while the swept-back projector headlamps look really classy.

Giving the bonnet a strong definition is two sharp creases,the front bumper too,is all-new

Along the sides, you'll notice new 15-inch alloy wheels

There are creases on the doors that lie parallel to each other and flow all the way to the rear, into the tail lamps.

The rear sports tail lamps that look identical to the Ciaz's, with upward extensions giving it its own appeal

The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga variants for the petrol model are as follows: LXI, VXI, Automatic VXI,ZXI and ZXI+ and Automatic ZXI,while the diesel variants are as follows:LDI,VDI,ZDI,ZDI+.

Features include air-cooled cup-holders, a 7-inch infotainment system, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Mirror Link, automatic climate control, AC vents for the second row

On the safety front, it gets ABS with EBD, brake assist, reverse parking sensors, dual airbags and ISOFIX child seat anchorages.

Step inside, and you'll notice black-and-beige dashboard inside the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga new model with a faux wood finish.

The cabin appears well built, and the flat-bottom steering gets wood touches too, it is wrapped in leather of course

The back rests at the rear provide ample cushioning, with decent thigh support.

The new Maruti Suzuki Ertiga gets a brand new petrol engine

It is the same 1.5-litre motor that debuted a few months ago on the Ciaz facelift and makes the same 103 bhp of peak power and 138 Nm of peak torque.

The petrol engine is mated to a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic, which is a torque convertor or traditional automatic and not an AMT like on some other Maruti cars.

The diesel on the other hand is a 1.3-litre DDIS 200 spec motor making 89 bhp of peak power and 200 Nm of peak torque.

The 1.5-litre engine works well and although it might be a little rougher than the 1.4-litre K14 that it replaces, overall, it does offer a very good package in terms of both overall drivability and performance and of course, fuel economy.

While the diesel offers a totally bonkers fuel economy of 25.47 kmpl, the petrol manual gets 19.34 kmpl and the petrol automatic gets 18.69 kmpl.
