Skoda Auto is a 122-year Czech automobile giant that started out as a motorcycle company.

They deal in the production and sale of vehicles in automobile classes like SUVs, small family cars, compact executive/ luxury cars, city cars and supermini cars.

Established in 1895, Skoda Auto is a Czech automobile manufacturer, formerly named Laurin & Klement.

Acquired by Skoda Works in 1925, the company was privatized in 1991 and in 2000, Volkswagen Group bought it.

In 2001, Skoda Auto India Pvt Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Volkswagen Group, started operations in India.

Based in the Czech Republic, Skoda was once regarded as the lame duck of European brands.

It still offers budget models in the form of the Citigo and Rapid, but Skoda has also now widened its market reach with models such as the larger Superb, and 4x4 SUVs such as the Karoq and Kodiaq.
